P₂P Experiments

What is P₂P Experiments?

P₂P experiments is a repository of tools mainly developped by Tangui Morlier to study peer-to-peer systems. He is working as an associate engineer in Franck Cappello's INRIA Grand Large team. These tools are used in various projects such as Benjamin Quetier's VGrid, Ala Rezmerita's PVC or William Hoarau's Fail.

What are P₂PE tools?

• Yet Another Desktop Grid

This desktop grid is a fork of xtremweb. Developped in C++, it implements classical functions of a desktop grid and solve data management and graph of executions problems.

S4G provides a secure execution environement for grids.

• Bittorrent Logs

This libtorrent patch provides a log system for a bittorrent client. Uploads, downloads between peers ; and communication with the tracker can be recorded.

• Simultaneous SYN

This prototype realizes the connection between two TCP clients (none of the two sides is a server waiting for connections) respecting the TCP standard.

• Traversing TCP

This prototype, integrated in PVC, proposes a technique to traverse NAT and Friwalls.

• Server to Server FTP Transfer

This perl implementation of FXP allows two ftp servers to exchange directly files.

Licences

The sources of P₂P Experiences are published in both GPL and CeCILL licences. Most of them are developped for linux platforms.
